What to expect on your first visit.

Consultation

After the initial paperwork is filled out, the doctor will sit down with you to discuss what brought you into the office. Many questions will be asked at this time, such as “When did you first notice the problem?”, and “What makes it worse or better?”. This is essentially a fact-finding mission by the doctor to determine what exams and/or x-rays might be needed. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss any concerns you may have.

Examination

An examination is performed after the consultation. This helps to ascertain what is going on. After all, pain can come from muscles, joints, ligaments, nerves, etc. Determining the source of the problem helps the doctor to develop a diagnosis and plan of treatment. The doctor will evaluate you orthopedically, neurologically and review all your objective and subjective findings.

X-Rays

After the exam, x-rays might be taken or other diagnostics may be ordered. This helps assist the doctor with a picture of your spine and joints. X-rays can be VERY valuable to the doctor in that he is provided with a clear picture of the injured area. After all, a more accurate diagnosis provides for more accurate treatment, and accurate treatment leads to a more positive outcome for you.

Treatment

Treatment plans are devised and individually tailored for you and your condition and are implemented to assist you on your road to recovery.

These may include:

  • Laser Therapy
  • Chiropractic Adjustments
  • Ice/Heat
  • Electric Muscle Stimulation
  • Ultrasound
  • Traction
  • Shockwave
  • Trigger-Point Therapy
  • Stretching And Exercise Strengthening Plans
  • Postural Correction Exercises
