A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. A chiropractor first takes a medical history, performs a physical examination, and may use diagnostic imaging to determine if treatment is appropriate for your back pain.

The treatment plan may involve adjustments in which the doctor manipulates the joints, to improve range and quality of motion. Chiropractors also incorporate exercise/rehabilitation into the treatment plan. Chiropractors seek to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients as well as to educate them on how they can account for their own health via exercise, ergonomics and other therapies to treat back pain.
